Insect Resistance Management

The risk of insect resistance is real but may be reduced with proper planning. To help preserve the effectiveness and benefits of Bacillus thuringiensis (B.t.) technology, growers are required to follow an Insect Resistance Management (IRM) plan for both corn and cotton insect protected technologies. In most geographical areas Genuity® Bollgard II® has the benefit of a natural refuge, however there are certain areas that still require a planted refuge. Growers must read the IRM Grower Guide prior to planting for details on planting a refuge, geographical restrictions, and other requirements of the IRM Plan.

Download the IRM Grower Guide. Growers must read the IRM Grower Guide prior to planting.

Download the Bollgard II Refuge Quickcard (CA & NM).

Download the Cotton IRM Calculator. This calculator assists cotton growers who plant Genuity® Bollgard II® in areas where a planted refuge is required. The calculator assists in determining refuge acres and planting configurations.
