The Deltapine® New Product Evaluator (NPE) Program offers participating farmers access to new and improved Deltapine® cotton varieties sooner and creates an important role in the overall product development process for producers across the Cotton Belt. Participating farmers are leading progressive producers searching for improved production and profitability through the latest cotton varieties.
The NPE Program allows Deltapine® to validate a variety’s performance potential before taking it commercial. The program provides a comprehensive look at each product, and when coupled with our plot work plus university extension variety trial results, we are able to bring to market cotton varieties that offer real performance advantages. In addition, we are able to better place the new varieties we commercialize because we’ve seen on a large scale how, where and under what systems they thrive in. The NPE Program creates confidence in the performance potential of new Deltapine® cotton varieties.
- 200+ participating farmers across the Belt
- Testing pre-commercial Deltapine® cotton varieties
- Large-acre plots enough for at least one module
- Farmer manages own plots to help demonstrate potential of varieties under unique soils, environments and management styles
- Monsanto conducts regular dialogue with each farmer throughout the season to get feedback on the products they are testing
- Final results are collected from each NPE farm and the farmers are met with for a full download about each variety tested
