William and Tony Bargery from Ridgely, TN on DP 0912 B2RF in 2010

Deltapine varieties helped us to make the best cotton ever in 2010. About 70% of our cotton acres were planted to Deltapine. DP 0912 B2RF was our leading variety. From the start, the DP 0912 B2RF proved to be one of the best because it came up better than other brands of cotton on our farm. However, on August 2nd, 2010, things were not looking good for the crop. The heat and drought was the worst we’ve ever seen, and I thought the crop would make about a bale per acre. But, the DP 0912 B2RF really handled the stress well, held its fruit, and on irrigated ground produced up to three bales per acre. It even made better than three bales on non-irrigated ground in some areas that received some rain. Plus, the DP 0912 B2RF responded well to plant growth regulators, was very easy to manage, and picked cleaner than other brands. Because of the results we’ve had with Deltapine in 2010, we’ll be planting more Deltapine cotton in 2011.
